The office of deacon is one of sympathy, witness, and service. Deacons teach charity, urge concern and direct the people’s help to the friendless and those in need. The visit the sick and shut ins. Also we provide Christmas food and presents for five to ten families a year, as well as many other benevolence projects, and services to the church such as preparing the elements for communion.
Children's Community Clothing Give-A-Way
One of their projects in our congregation is to spend the year gathering clothing for youth and children from all over the community, washing, repairing and sorting it for a massive back to school clothing give away at the end of the summer. Some clothing is given out during the year in response to emergencies referred by the school.
